Leg 9

Date: June 22-24

Course: Ucluelet to Victoria

Distance: 97 nautical miles

Start: 1000 hrs. The start line is in the vicinity of the previous days finish. Excellent spectator viewing from Amphitrite Point.

Finish: The finish will be similar to the Swiftsure harbour finish inside the Ogden Point Breakwater in Victoria harbour. The race committee will be on station at the Westcan Terminal on Pier A. There is excellent spectator viewing from the Breakwater.

Finish time: Boats have until 1800 hrs on June 23 to finish.

Tall Ships Festival: The Tall Ships Festival and all its associated festivities will be underway during our stay in Victoria. It is very likely that some boats could be finishing this leg of the race during the middle of the Tall Ships Parade which takes place in the vicinity of the race finish line. Expect many tall ships and 100s of spectator boats.

Moorage: Moorage is being hosted courtesy of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority at the Wharf St. Marina in downtown Victoria. This facility will be shared with many of the Tall Ships.

Awards Presentation: An awards presentation will take place at a yet to be determined location close to the moorage facility.

Facilities: Enjoy all the facilities and amenities this fantastic City has to offer, everything is available and close.

Special Notes: This is an extremely busy harbour with heavy float plane and ferry traffic. For information and rules on transiting Victorias Harbour please refer to this map www.tc.gc.ca/pacific/marine/victoriaharbourtrafficscheme.htm
